This week has gone so quick, I can't believe we are already in October. I have loved so many products lately and can't wait for October Favourites to come, so I have done a quick weekly favourites. Though saying that, I still spent a good ten minutes trying to decide on just five products for this post – I have been trying quite a few makeup products either drugstore or highend as I'm trying to change my makeup for the Autumn season.
The first item I can't wait to talk about is the latest Real Techniques Miracle complexion Sponge. I have to say out of all the foundation applicators this is my favourite. It gives me a flawless complexion and makes it so easy to apply and blend my foundation. I also use it for applying my Rimmel Wake me up Concealer as its so versatile to use. At £5.99 this is such a great purchase. I have always been against using sponges as the have a tendency to soak up most of the product. However this sponge lets your foundation glide on without using a lot of the product. This item is defiantly multi functional, as I can use it for my foundation, concealer or even to apply cream blush. It has rounded sides to help blend areas by either dabbing or stippling onto the face. I use the precision tip to help me apply my concealer to any blemishes or imperfections I have at the time. It also has a flat edge, which can be used for contouring around the eyes and nose.
Do let me know if you have tried it and what you thought?
Im not a fan of powder, for the sheer fact they make my skin look really matte and 'cakey'. I have quite dry skin and hair, therefore the powder seems to stick to my face and give me a horrible complexion. However they do help prolong your foundation, so I was determined to find a product that would give me a light coverage just to help me prolong my base. Therefore I bought the Revlon Nearly Naked powder in the shade medium. The texture of this product is lovely and the powder is light and doesn't seem to wash my face out. Its a pressed powder which comes also in a very nice compact which has an applicator and mirror. I purchased it from Boots at £5.99, which is a great bargain for such a great product. Its unbelievable light and just gives me enough coverage to help my makeup stay in place.
I absolutly am obsessed with Lip butters and Balms at the moment. The reason being is because were its getting colder my lips get quite dry and begin to crack. Its not a good look for when your applying lipstick. Therefore I purchased the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and Macadamia. This product is so unbelievable, I possibly couldnt fault it. I use this before I apply my Lipstick to help give a smooth effect and to also help keep my lips all soft. Somedays I will even just wear this Lip butter instead of Lipgloss. I will first apply a very neutral lipliner to my lip line and all over my lips, I will then buff in the Lip butter to create a natural look for an everyday look. This product contains Almond oil, which helps to give an intense moisturise to your lips.
My last product I am going to talk about is the Maybelline Color show Nail polishes. They are so cheap at £2.99 each they are so affordable and are amazing to apply. Its a gel based formula, which makes it glide onto your nails in one coat. I needed a nail polish to help me move my look from Summer to Autumn, so these were for my Autumn nail look. They have only just bought this range out, however for a drugstore product this are unmissable. I bought two shades for Autumn in 'Brick Shimmer' and 'Ocean Blue'. They both have a metallic look to them and the colour looks amazing on. The also last for ages, compared with other high end products that chip after a day.
Okay so thats it for my weekly favourites, I hope you enjoyed the read and let me know about your favourites for Autumn?
Thanks
Hollie ❤
